I have had the honor of supporting others in healing and growth for over 10 years, in a variety of therapeutic settings. As a relational therapist, I am passionate about working with teens, individuals, couples, and families. I specializes in supporting those who have been touched by adoption, grief, loss, trauma, and hurt from religion, as well as people who desire increased connection, to explore personal identity, and to find an authentic belief system or spirituality. I create an open and inviting space for others to engage in deep introspective reflection that helps foster creativity, authenticity, and expansion. I lean on depth-oriented, attachment, and existential therapies, and utilize play, experiential interventions, creativity, as well as insight and awareness to help foster healing.

As a lover of nature, I enjoy spending time outdoors in all four Minnesota seasons. A musician, potter, climber, and aspiring gardener, I believe in the healing power of time outside, creating, and authentic conversation. I love experiencing new places and learning as much as I can, through books and lived experience. I found my way to the Twin Cities by way of North Dakota, Chicago, and Denver, and currently live in Saint Paul with my husband and dog, Roo. Previously in addition to private practice, I worked at Macalester College as a Mental Health Counselor, was the Director of Student Services at the Denver Family Institute, supported clients in her private practice and at the PASS Center (Post Adoption Support Services) in Denver, and provided in-home family therapy with Maple Star Colorado.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Family Studies. I have completed advanced trainings related to adoption, attachment, trauma, and theology, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). I have had the opportunity to speak on topics related to adoption, attachment, trauma, parenting, and interpersonal stress, as well as travel to China with the nonprofit Adopteen (a division of Chinese Children Adoption International) in 2017 and 2018 for service trips to local orphanages.

I have had the honor of guiding and holding space for clients for over 5 years. I am often described as having a warm, compassionate, and grounded presence. As a clinician, my priority is to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, understood, and supported. I believe a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation for vulnerability and authentic self-expression—leading to therapeutic change and growth.

I enjoy working with adult individuals through life transitions, stress, grief, trauma, and religious harm. I am passionate about helping clients create an authentic sense of self through exploring the big questions of life, finding meaning, finding an authentic belief system or spirituality, and learning to trust one’s inner guidance.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and hold a Master of Arts in Counseling. I have worked previously in private practice and as a Clinical Program Therapist at the Department of Corrections. Though I utilize an eclectic therapeutic approach by drawing from an array of therapeutic modalities, my practice is grounded in a person-centered, psychodynamic, depth-oriented, body-based approach. I also incorporate Brainspotting (BSP), for addressing and treating trauma through the mind, body, and emotional levels.

As a professional counselor, I value practicing regular mind, body, spirit self-care that allows me to serve from the overflow. I further place high value on doing my own work through a lifetime commitment to personal and professional growth and evolution. I grew up in North Dakota,  though I have resided in the Twin Cities for the last several years. I describe myself as a true introvert who enjoys deep conversation, time spent by the ocean, beautiful hiking trails, reading, writing, and introspection. I would be honored to support you at this time in your journey!
